Simple Past Tense - Regular Verbs

The simple past form of regular verbs is simply formed by adding "ed" to the verb in simple form:
ADD + ED = ADDED

However, there are some spelling rules that have to be followed:
1. Verbs ending in "e" - only add "d" - example: ARRIVE - ARRIVED

2. Verbs ending in CONSONANT + "Y" - change the "Y" to "i" and add "ed"- CARRY - CARRIED

3. Verbs ending in CONSONANT+VOWEL+CONSONANT - double the last consonant and add "ed" - example: ADMIT - ADMITTED

For the simple present QUESTION and NEGATIVE forms, the helping verb forms are DO / DOES and DON'T / DOESN'T.

For the SIMPLE PAST TENSE only use DID and the verb in simple form (this is without "ED"
Example : She doesn't work on Sundays (simple present)  She didn't work last Sunday (simple past).

Here is a link to a web page which provides a complete list of REGULAR VERBS IN ENGLISH:

 http://www.ompersonal.com.ar/omverbs/regularverbs.htm

(The infinitive form in the list is the same as the "simple form")
